We share the same pain. We share the same struggle. We all suffer from injustice. We all are subjected to oppression from those in power and we struggle against them in different ways.
We need your voice today. We need your conscience. We need your presence. We will #protest. We will #walk for the liberation of people without refuge.
Since the 19th of October more than fourty #Children and #Women left the camp of Moria and started a sit-in protest in Mytilini. For more than two weeks several within the group started a hunger strike. Among the hunger strikers there women and three girls who are #minors. The protesters are the same people who have been dispossessed from their homes and forced into exile by the #European and #Americans powers. They have been forced into exile by their dirty business, by their gun sales, by their parasitic policies. These #refugees have been forced to leave their homes and cross thousands of kilometres of dangerous distances to find a safe harbour in Europe. Instead they faced imprisonment, deportation, humiliation and torture by the different states and the UNITED NATIONS. These refugees have decided not to return to #Moria Camp. They have decided to continue their sit-in occupation of Sappho Square and their dangerous hunger strike. Until the day they will be free to leave this island and be liberated from this open air prison or #die because of their hunger strike.
After sleeping in the square for more than one month while exposed to the cold, rain, hunger, humiliation and insecurity. They are disappointed about the total lack of reaction from UNHCR and the #TheGreekState. It is why they have decided to make a peaceful protest march.
We all know very well that the state and the UNHCR will never listen to the call of people who do not have refuge. These are people who do not have any protection from their own governments. We all know that we are the people and we are the only ones who can undo the injustice of the states. We are the people and we have to be each others co-walkers in situations like this.
We call you to create a historical day, when we together call for justice. We request to you to walk with us and call with us our demand of freedom of those who do not have refuge.
We will meet 20th of November at 5 PM in Sappho Square, Mytilini. Be our co-walker!
